My reasons

I was born in Brazil, and as most of us, with a soccer ball right next to my feet. I spent my whole childhood (which lasts until today) playing, watching, listening, dreaming and buying soccer. I don't know why or how - just some speculations -, but I can feel it in my DNA.

Basically, I have two reasons for playing/loving it:

The emotional reason - Going to a soccer game is something that everyone should try some day. If you add the unlimited passion for a team, or even a player, the game could become a amazing experience of life, those you'll keep repeating to your grandson ("...I remember that game in which Corinthians smashed Palmeiras, it was incredible, people went crazy, yata yata yata..." - Unfortunately, Palmeiras has beaten Corinthians this weekend. Let's just skip this part). Anyway, it makes you feel part of it, makes you want to be one of them. That’s what moves me to have some falls and look ridiculous trying to show out my skills, but that’s also what makes me score a goal and imagine that I’m Ronaldo playing in a World Cup final.

The rational reason - We are talking a bout another world, live only in my head. Playing soccer means a lot to me as a human being. I think it's therapeutical! It's some kind of a cult, where you put everyone together for the same purpose, of having a great time. This not only makes you feel better because of the exercise you do, but put your thoughts in place too.

Well, that’s quite much why I started playing soccer and I’m sure it’ll last until the end, of soccer. ; )
